Dissertation Research Invitation!

I’m recruiting research participants for my dissertation project tentatively titled “Crossing Lines: Practices & Pedagogies of Creative Writers Who Teach First-year Writing.”

About

The purpose of this IRB-approved study is to examine disciplinary overlap and narrate embodied experiences to increase the visibility of creative writers in the field and forge stronger partnerships with stakeholders such as graduate students, WPAs, writing scholars, and other writing instructors.

What does the research involve?

This study uses a narrative inquiry protocol. I’m currently conducting one-hour, semi-structured interviews over Zoom.

Who can participate?

Instructors who have completed or are currently enrolled in an MFA or PhD program in Creative Writing and who have taught at least one section of FYW.

This research seeks to include a wide range of subjectivities, professional experiences -- from GTAs to WPAs -- and institutional representation from Community Colleges, Research Universities, Small Liberal Arts Colleges, Historically Black Colleges or Universities, and other types of institutions.

Compensation

There's no compensation for participation.
